Support for Uniform

Like most schools and places of work, Highfields College upholds a dress code /uniform for students: www.highfieldscollege.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Highfields-Uniform-Guide-Jan-2023.pdf

This policy has been designed and adapted over the years with significant student voice. The dress code / uniform is compulsory for all students – students who arrive without uniform will be asked to return home and change clothing, with parents/carers informed beforehand. The College no longer provides loan uniforms as this has previously become unsustainable.

We support all students and their families with uniform in the following ways:

  • A free branded jumper is provided on admission to the College.
  • All branded jumpers and leggings are sold at cost price.
  • Other than leggings, all other aspects of uniform can be bought from supermarkets and high street retailers at low prices.

If families need further support in an emergency, they can request a ‘Uniform Hardship Grant’ from the College directly – applications forms are available from reception. Further support is provided by Stockport Council via the following link: www.stockport.gov.uk/clothing-grants

It is worth noting that Highfields College staff must also adhere to a dress code as found on our Policies page.
