Time of the School Day
Highfields College operates across multiple sites. The times of the day for students varies according to the site they attend – below are the common start and end times.
When there are exams for Year 11s and Year 10s (mock exams and final exams), due to the number of students requiring access arrangements, we will alter the school day – parents/carers will be notified in advance. The dates of these exams are published on our Term Dates page here.
KS3 Extension and KS4 Main Building (Main Campus, Brinnington)
- Start: 9:00AM
- Finish: 3:20PM
- Fri Finish: 1:20PM
A free Breakfast Club is available to all students from 8.30am.
The Bridge (Brookfield House, Town Centre)
- Start: 8:45AM
- Mon, Thurs Finish: 3:30PM
- Tues Finish: 2:45PM (following return from Linnet Clough)
- Weds Finish: 3:00PM (following return from offsite sports venue)
- Fri Finish: 1:00PM
Personalised Learning Centre (Brookfield House, Town Centre)
For all students on a full-time plan:
- Start: 8:45AM
- Mon, Tues, Thurs Finish: 3:30PM
- Weds Finish: 3:00PM
- Fri Finish: 1:00PM
The PLC also runs a range of bespoke timetables to re-engage students who have entrenched non-attendance. Parents/carers are provided with this in advance and any updates will be communicated also in advance.
Outreach
Students within Outreach will receive a personalised plan from Mrs Jones. Parents/carers are provided with this in advance and any updates will be communicated also in advance.
Stockport Young Futures
Students within Stockport Young Futures will receive a personalised plan from Miss Tebbutt for their two week Admission and Induction offer. Parents/carers are provided with this in advance and any updates will be communicated also in advance.
