Many of our students in Year 10 and Year 11 undertake work-related learning – in line with some of the ideas they have about what they want to do when they leave school. Mrs Hague undertakes much of this work, making links with local providers and then taking students to / from their placement, providing support wherever needed.

By undertaking placements in construction, childcare, hair and beauty etc. our students gain a better idea of what’s involved, can earn preliminary qualifications and make more informed choices about post-16. It also gives them a wider social experience than school – and for those students who don’t necessarily love school, placements can become a highlight of their week.

Here are a few photos from one of our student’s visit to a salon… well done to the student involved for representing us so well!
