Following student voice last term, we have relooked at the Main Campus Uniform. We have had 2 separate requests specifically from children on this site:
  • A number of girls raised the issue being cold in just a jumper and polo shirt, especially in the distinctly colder parts of the Main Building (such as our covered workshop) and when undertaking sessions outdoors. This is not an issue as far as we know at Brookfield House which does not have outdoor areas and does not suffer from patchy underfloor heating.
  • A number of male students have said after sport at lunchtimes, and for some generally, the lighter blue jumper shows up sweat marks and makes them feel embarrassed. They wanted to replace royal blue jumpers with black jumpers but this would create a huge cost across the school – so we needed a compromise.
As a result, we looked at the possibility of a navy blue fleece with the classic Highfields badge to wear instead of a royal blue jumper or over a royal blue jumper. We can source these at £15 each. We have consulted with parents/carers about whether they would be happy to purchase them and the overwhelming response was positive.
We now have the items in stock (image below) and some students have already purchased them.
Please note these are only for students on Main Campus – and they are only for purchase with payment in advance, we cannot loan them out. There is already a small stock of fleeces already in the workshop and for outdoor areas that students can loan for these sessions – we offer these additional items for those students who wish to wear one more regularly.
