From Monday 4th March, we are pleased to announce Highfields will be taking part in the National School Breakfast Programme. This means we be providing a greater range of breakfast choices at the start of each day for our students.
The breakfast menu includes:
- Cold cereals – shreddies, multigrain hoops, rice crispies
- Toasted bagels
- Fruit juice
As part of the launch, on Monday 4th March we have also invited KS3 parents/carers to attend with their child and to join us for breakfast at 9am.
This initiative is funded by the ‘sugar tax’ and provided free to all students attending Highfields. Research undertaken so far by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) has shown that a nutritious breakfast in primary students can boost their performance in reading, writing and Maths – we hope it will do the same for students at Highfields.
