A few weeks ago we put up a blog about our caterpillars in KS3 – you can read this here if you missed it.

Unlike the fox moth caterpillar which takes 5 years to get to the chrysalis stage – or longer still, the Arctic bear moth which takes an amazing 14 years to get to the chrysalis stage – our caterpillars have taken just a few weeks!

This week, just ahead of Insect Week, our chrysalises have now become beautiful butterflies. In turn, our E2 class have taken the butterflies outside and let them go – a small act but one we hope our young people remember.
