We are aware that Northern Rail have approached local media about alleged fare evasion and other unlawful behaviour allegedly by school age teenagers on the rail network. We are aware Northern Rail have named Highfields College. Below is a letter setting out our position on this matter:

Stockport Council have also released the following statement:
“We are awaiting further information from Northern Rail and are disappointed that they have chosen to link pupils at our schools to this without further correspondence with us. The schools immediately offered to support Northern Rail but we remain unclear as to what evidence they have used to determine that our pupils are at fault other than looking at parts of the railway affected and schools nearby on the map.”
